ABOUT

Hello there, I’m Matt! I make all the stuff on this website! I’m the creator, writer, and animator of “Undertale – The Twin Souls” and “Swole Foods”. I also write and illustrate all of the comics on this site on a weekly basis.

A little about me, I am 23 years old, male, and perpetually lonely. I was born in Central Florida but grew up in Northern Virginia, just a half hour away from our nation’s capitol. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. I always doodled during class and would draw comics and stuff instead of doing classwork, which made me SUPER popular with all of my teachers… I think I was about twelve or thirteen when I realized I wanted to do animation as, like, a job, and I was fourteen years old when I made my first Flash cartoon, Zelda – The Execution. I’m currently attending Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, pursuing a degree in animation, which, I’m sure you might imagine, gets me invited to TONS of wild keggers. I have TONS of friends. ALL of the ladies want me. /s

I draw on a Wacom Cintiq 16, which is hooked into a custom-built PC with a 12-core AMD Ryzen 9 3900X processor, an Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. If you don’t know what any of that means, that’s okay, I don’t either, my friend built it for me.

To animate, I currently use Adobe Animate CC 2017.5 (formerly known as Flash). Sometimes I do extra cleanup work in ToonBoom Harmony but I think that actually takes me LONGER to do than just doing everything in Flash. Sometimes I mix 3D and 2D stuff. I do all of the 3D in Blender, and then I mix it all together in Adobe Premiere, which I also use to do the final edits of my cartoons. All of the sounds, music, and color grading gets added here. I use a Blue Yeti microphone to record my dialogue, which is all recorded in Audacity. I have Adobe Audition but I don’t like it very much so I don’t use it. Backgrounds are drawn in Manga Studio.

The cartoons are also worked on by my personal friends, including Macarou who does the music, Chris and Sian who help me with voices and also help me shoot ideas back and forth, and Anthony who co-wrote the final episode of The Twin Souls with me.

I’m working on cartoons pretty consistently I think, so there’s always gonna be new stuff coming out.

FAQ

How long does it take to make a cartoon? Depends on the level of detail and length of the animation. It ranges from a couple of hours (really short and low-effort cartoons) to several months (for an episode of The Twin Souls)

Do I need a beefy computer/expensive tablet/overpriced microphone/fancy editing software to be an animator? No.

Can I help? The short answer is “no”, the long answer is “I entrust this work to people I have worked with and trust.” Sometimes we put out casting calls for voices, but again we try to stay in-house after some pretty bad experiences with unreliable actors.
